Nodecoin Staking
Overview of Nodepay's Staking Mechanics
By staking your Nodecoin ($NC) tokens, you help secure the Nodepay network and, in return, earn extra rewards. Stakers ensure that data routes are validated and that network operations remain reliable.
How to Stake
You can stake by delegating your tokens to validator nodes, which are responsible for accurately routing bandwidth traffic and verifying resource consumption. There is a minimum staking period of 7 days, and rewards are distributed regularly based on the network’s parameters.
If you decide to unstake, there is a mandatory unlock period during which your tokens remain locked before becoming available for withdrawal.

Delegating Stake
When you delegate your $NC, you engage in a shared-risk, shared-reward model with validators. Delegators benefit from a portion of the validator’s staking rewards, while validators gain more staked collateral to strengthen their position and earn higher rewards for their services. Staking delegation will be available in V2 staking.
Validator Selection and Rewards
After Nodepay transitions to greater decentralization, validator nodes with larger delegated stakes are more likely to be chosen for data validation tasks. The more traffic a validator handles, the higher the potential rewards for both the validator and their delegators. This mechanism incentivizes a reliable and performant network.
Commission Fees
Validators incur costs to run and maintain their infrastructure, so they may charge a commission on the staking rewards. Over time, validators will likely compete by offering:
Lower commission rates
High uptime and reliability
Additional service incentives
As a delegator, you can compare different validators’ performance and fees to optimize your returns.
Future Risks – Slashing
As Nodepay progresses toward a fully decentralized model, it may introduce slashing penalties for malicious activity, such as:
Reporting invalid data
Withholding or censoring data
Violating Nodepay’s network rules
Slashing destroys a portion of the validator’s staked $NC (and potentially delegators’ shares) if they act maliciously. At present, Nodepay’s slashing mechanism is under development; further details will be shared via official channels once it is implemented.
By staking Nodecoin, you actively contribute to the security and reliability of Nodepay’s decentralized infrastructure—and get rewarded in the process.
